Awesome!!!

So Sebastian is almost completely shedded out.  I think we still have about a week to go on the sheddin.

After I was done sheddin him I wanted to ride for a bit but didn't wanna tack up so I decided we were gonna try ridin bareback.  I have never ridin him bareback before (coolin out one time bareback doesn't count).  So I was takin a major risk seein how I leave for trainin in 14 days.  But I figured it was now or never.  So we bridled up and went to the roundpen.  I couldn't get up alone so I used the roundpen fence.  :p  We walked, trotted, cantered, and cantered over a groundpole!  He did really good and the canterin over the ground pole really helped me to understand how to keep my weight back and bend at my hip instead of just leanin forward in the saddle and throwin my weight forward.  Sebastian also collected up real nice and slowed to a real nice canter and trot and really started puttin his head down.  So ridin bareback helped the both of us so we will be doin it practically everytime we ride now!  We had a major accomplishment today!  YAY!  I'm so happy!  Can't wait to ride again tomorrow!

Catch Up Time

Well Sebastian got his coggins pulled last week as well as his rabies and tetanus shot.  Now I just have to go to tractor supply, get the rest of his vaccinations, and Shelly said she would administer them.  Dr. Malark also gave Bastian a shot of estrone to try and loosen up one of the muscles in his stifle (which is the poppin we hear and not his joints) so that the muscle can build up the way its supposed to and hopefully fix our problems.  Dr. Malark also did a lameness exam and does not think Bastian needs to be on hock injections until we start competin heavily.  So thats good news.  I have to give Bastian another shot of Estrone in about three more weeks.  I'm not sure how many he is gonna get.  So hopefully while I'm gone if he is still on it then my mom will swing by the vet office and pick up the shot and either Shelly or Erin or someone can administer it so I'm not have to pay a $50.00 farm call fee every four weeks.

I had a lesson on Bastian last Thursday and he did amazin!  I didn't even have to lunge him before we rode and we moved from the round pen into the flat arena.  Shelly put down a ground pole and a jump with one side of the pole up and the other down to make a two jump sequence.  We did it trottin and canterin and he did perfect...now if only I could focus on my equitation....

Yesterday was Sebastian's birthday.  He turned 7.  Yes I found out his actually age.  I didn't get him anythin but I did spend all day at the barn with him.  We bathed, worked on sheddin, grazed in the feild with Parker and Erin, and then was allowed to go in the jump arena to graze.  He was in with Parker, Little Man, and Stuart and they were all cute to watch together.  When Erin and I decided to get our horses and put them in their pastures their racin days came out again.  It was real cute...even though Parker didn't care if we were right in his path and we had to move.  They had fun and thats all that counts.

I'm gonna miss my baby.....
